Theresa Landrum

Theresa Landrum is a native Detroiter and life-long resident of 48217. Theresa serves on the Evergreen Advisory Board, as well as two environmental advisory boards for Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Landrum is also a leader of the Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition and Tri-Cities United. She was awarded the Power of One Dedicated Woman award this past September by Michigan Community Resources for her community work. She lost both of her parents to cancer, and is a cancer survivor herself.

Emma Lockridge

Emma Lockridge is a photographer, journalist, and community organizer for Michigan United. Ever since she moved to 48217 to take care of her mother who had fallen sick from pollution, she has fought tirelessly for the community. 

I will continue to fight until I die. I have already been diagnosed with kidney failure, cancer and asthma. The fight has already given me a death sentence, so I’ll continue to fight until I’m dead.” - Lockridge

Rhonda Anderson

Rhonda Anderson has been working at the Sierra Club in Detroit as an environmental justice organizer for over 12 years. Anderson is a highly decorated activist who established a relationship with the 48217 community to help support their work resisting polluters. She has received multiple Sierra Club awards including the Virginia Ferguson Award in 2013 and the Mike McClosky Award in 2015.

Dr. Delores Leonard

Dr. Delores Leonard is a retired professor, activist and resident of 48217 who has been a pivotal force in building relationships between the community and government, and has been a leader in opening a Computer Center in southwest Detroit to progress educational opportunities for children and seniors. She also serves as a National Environmental Justice Committee Member for the Sierra Club
